“UNITY THROUGH DIVERSITY” (Language, Communication and Innovation in Multicultural Contexts) is the major theme for the series of Symposium for International Languages and Knowledge (SILK), SILK is a joint-collaboration between three established universities in Asia, Mahidol University (MU), Thonburi University (TRU ), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Osaga University (OU), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Philippines, WalailakUniversity (WU), and Rangsit University (RU). Within the spectrum of language varieties, SILK aims to gather students, researchers, educators, academics and professionals from Asia and around the world to amplify their knowledge by sharing their experiences to the broader community.
The Symposium of International Languages and Knowledge aims to stimulate inquiry, invite dialogue and build a body of knowledge on language learning. The symposium aspires to link new knowledge in the fields of languages, education and knowledge. Within the themes of SILK 2020, the conference will:
I. bring together academics, researchers, professionals and students, whose interests are in languages, education pedagogy and creativity;
II. promote the value of knowledge sharing and networking among presenters and participants;
III. tighten academic cooperation and collaboration among the ASEAN countries, particularly within the three university parties;
IV. raise public awareness in the learning of languages and knowledge in general.
As commitment to SILK 2020, the three universities will host the symposium on annual rotational basis.

1) Abstract & Program Book: All Contributions (Paper, Workshop, and Poster) must be submitted as abstracts on an A4 page review for the conference before 31st Jan 2020. All accepted abstracts will be published in the SILK 2020 program book. Contributors will be informed on the acceptance of the abstract before 15th Feb 2020.
2) Conference Proceedings: If Contributors want their full papers to be published in the conference proceedings of SILK 2020, they have to submit their manuscripts (5-8 pages maximum) of their papers before 15th March 2020. All full papers must conform to JiLK format. The papers will be subjected to double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process.
3) Journals: Presenters have to amend their papers as suggested and indicate whether they want to publish their accepted full papers in the peer reviewed Journal for International Languages and Knowledge (JiLK), International Journal of Communication in Scientific Inquiry (IJCSi) (https://jcsi.unimap.edu.my/), Liberal Arts Journal of Mahidol University (https://la.mahidol.ac.th/lajournal/), Journal of Communication in Scientific Inquiry (JCSI), or Scopus indexed journals such as GEMA Online @ Journal of Language Studies and Malaysian Journal of Learning and Instruction (MJLI). An Additional fee of RM100 @ THB730 will be charged for publications in JiLK and JCSi and an additional of RM1000 @ THB 7,300 for Scopus publications in MJLI.
Note: In SILK 2019, ten papers were selected to be published in GEMA Online® Journal of Language Studies. In 2020, we expect to get higher both numbers and quality papers than last year, so numbers of papers will be selected for published in Scopus or ISI should be higher.
